Luc Dratwa Belgian

Luc Dratwa (Belgian, b. 1958) is a renowned photographer from Brussels, Belgium, where he currently lives and works. A self-taught artist, he began his career as editor-in-chief of the design and architecture magazine Domino, but he has displayed a deep passion for the arts from a very young age. Initially drawn to painting, he eventually transitioned to photography, which proved to be his true calling.

Through his experience with painting, Dratwa gained a profound understanding of the importance of colors and the graphical quality of composition—insights that have left a lasting mark on his photographic work. For Dratwa, a photograph is more than an image; it reveals the story and soul of the photographer. He took the time to refine his style and achieve technical perfection, only launching his career as a photographer once he felt confident in his craft.

Since 2009, cities, and New York in particular, have held a special place in his work. The city's multifaceted character and energy offer endless possibilities for him to unleash his creative imagination. Dratwa’s vision of photography goes beyond the click of the shutter: he approaches his work with meticulous attention to detail, considering every aspect from the photo shoot to the print, and from the frame to the paper. This dedication to precision and perfection is evident in all his creations, where nothing is left to chance.
Dratwa’s work is represented globally, from Paris to Bangkok, New York, Amsterdam, and even Singapore. He has also participated in prestigious contemporary art fairs, including Art Paris, Art Lille, and Art India, where he has enjoyed great success.
